PM² Project Management is a project management methodology developed by the European Commission and open to all. Its purpose is to enable project managers (PMs) to deliver solutions and benefits to their organisations by effectively managing the entire lifecycle of their projects. It has been created with the needs of European Union Institutions and projects in mind, but is transferrable to projects in any organisation.
PM²-Agile supports institutions and organisations using PM² to effectively introduce Agile practices to their projects while maintaining enterprise awareness and compliance at the overall project level.
PM² Portfolio Management (PM²-PfM) connects the strategic layer to the implementation layer, through selecting the right mix of projects and programmes, prioritising them, ensuring adequate organisational capacity to execute them, and regularly collecting information to support portfolio decision-making and optimisation.
PM² Programme Management (PM²-PgM) allows managers to easily implement, evaluate and improve the performance and effectiveness of programmes they are managing, and it includes techniques that are practical, simple to incorporate and encourage transparency throughout the organisation.
