About the 2025 Edition
Initially developed by the European Commission for internal project management, the PM² methodologies have since evolved to serve organisations of various sizes and sectors across Europe and beyond. This expansion signifies a natural progression from a project-focused framework to a broader approach encompassing programme and portfolio management, thus supporting more integrated organisational performance.
The continuous enhancement of PM² ensures its alignment with the needs of complex and evolving environments. The 2025 Edition reflects this maturity and coherence across the methodology suite, with the PM²-PgM Overview being the first release in this updated series.
Key updates from the previous edition include a revised Responsibilities Assignment Matrix (RAM / D-ARSCI), refreshed process and artefact descriptions, and multiple stylistic and structural improvements to enhance accessibility and usability.
