PM²-Agile guide now available in French

In line with the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, DIGIT’s Centre of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²) has published the first translation of its PM²-Agile guide in French.

With the aim of assisting organisations across Europe in their effort to adopt Agile methods, the guide helps teams become more effective when delivering high-quality solutions, effectively manage priorities and increases project transparency. The translation is based on the PM²-Agile guide published in July 2021.

"Agile" is a collective term used to refer to a set of practices (driven by a set of core values and principles), especially in software development, in which requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organising, cross-functional teams. It promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, continuous improvement and encourages rapid and flexible response to change.

As with the PM² Methodology -now available in English, Italian, Spanish and French- the team is looking for a wider adoption of PM²-Agile by Member States and the private sector in Europe and thus is actively seeking for volunteers to translate this guide into different languages.

The PM²-Agile guide primarily addresses the needs of software development projects and it should be perceived as an extension of PM². Nevertheless, several practices, tools and techniques included in the guide can also be applicable to “non-IT” projects, as reflected in the PM²-Agile Mindsets.

Stéphane Foltzer, Director of the Digital Defence Academy said: “We wanted to contribute to the dissemination of the PM²-Agile methodology, having successfully applied it to an inter-ministerial training programme that aimed to provide new ways to manage IT projects. With the ultimate goal of providing french speakers with a complete access to the PM² materials; this first collaboration with the CoEPM² will be followed by the translation of other key elements linked to PM²-Agile”

Alain Van Gaever, Head of Sector, DIGIT said, “This French version is a major achievement not only for the  PM² community, but for the European citizens at large. We are thankful to the French Ministry of Defence who collaborated with us to arrive at this milestone, and we are delighted to share this open resource with users looking to implement the key elements from PM²-Agile into their projects”.

The French PM²-Agile Guide is available for download from the Publications Office of the European Union.

If you are interested in collaborating with us in our effort to provide translations of our different guides in more European languages, don’t hesitate to contact the team.
