The Methodologies Office is part of the Directorate-General for Digital Services of the European Commission. Its purpose is to develop, support and promote a suite of methodologies for the European Commission, which also available to all EU institutions, bodies and agencies. In addition, the Methodologies Office maintains a training and certification programme, exclusively available to EU staff, and manages EU Institutions-wide Communities of Practice for the exchange of good methodology practices.
The Methodologies Office promotes PM² externally. The PM² methodologies, which include PM² Project Management, PM²-Agile, PM² Programme Management, and PM² Portfolio Management, are open to all via a CC licence.
The Methodologies Office develops and maintains open e-learning courses which are available via the EU Academy. It also promotes the PM² Methodologies to external stakeholders such as Member States, public administrations, EU Funded Programmes, and others.
The PM² Methodologies were supported by ISA². Currently, all the external activities of the Methodologies Office are grouped under the Open PM² Initiative which is funded by Digital Europe Programme.
